For this Halloween, our friends, the groove specialists, Barefoot West and Gameday Sports Bar in Rocky Mount organized the first annual Gameday’s Halloween Bash- and they invited us to play! So for our costumes this weekend we reprised our former role as The Post-Apocalyptic Blues Band, in a slightly more undead fashion. We’re still working on getting the videos up, but you can see our first two songs from the set Here.
Many highlights from the show- we met, watched, and got to share a stage with some awesome bands, Triscale, The Forrest Baldwin Band, and of course Barefoot West. We were happy to catch up with the new music by Barefoot West and The Forrest Baldwin Band, and very happy to finally hear Triscale’s set, we’d heard a lot about them but had yet to hear their expansive funk-blues rock sound for ourselves, they certainly did not disappoint. During our set we were joined by Ms. Air Lightly, who sang in tones that would make a wolverine purr. Also, Mr. A.J. Dudley provided the cherry on top of the set with his Vincent Price recitation- it was a night to remember. As well as making some new friends, we also encountered a lot of old friends from Franklin County High School- photographs and merriment ensued.
Suffice to say, this show was a lot of fun, we had an excuse to douse ourselves in fake blood (though rest assured it won’t be as long before it’s used again), and the audience was awesome-we saw some excellent costumes. Photos/Videos will be uploaded soon!
New discoveries this week: “Splice” is a surprisingly unique and awesome sci-fi horror movie, definitely worth watching. Also, discovered that “Station to Station” is musical GOLD, not that you can expect any less from Bowie though.
