Before reading further, please direct your attention this blog belonging to R.J. Haynes who has been working on a full length feature film (living the indie dream!) and has finally completed a rough edit! To make the entire film visible to the web there was some mild compression utilized- we think he's done a brilliant job! Keep checking the Kidney Beans Blog for updates on this, we're very excited to see the uncompressed final version!
Now that we've got the pleasant part out of the way...
Let's talk about this.
Definitely discovered this song late in it's short, sad, existence, and have already seen it's ran the gamut of parody and general trashing. This is all justified, of course. I won't add to the chorus by directing this rant towards this poor girl who, bless her heart, just wanted to sing some pop music and trusted the foundations of her musical career to these people. Ark Music literally could have recorded this song with an auto-tuned pigeon, but instead they recruited yet another poor soul to tie all their credibility up with this debut. I would love to see her use this as a springboard to something better/less bad somehow- but you wonder where can you go after singing a refrain like "par-ty-ing par-ty-ing YEAH!". My guess is that this song was written by some evil genius that has an uncanny knack for catchy melodies, a poor grasp of the English language, and a lack of sympathy for today's youth.
The video is something else... These are 13 year old kids. What are they doing driving? It's irresponsible enough to skip school instead of taking your bus, even more so to joyride with your underage friends, and they drive straight to a party? School hasn't even began yet kids! And the rap break featuring the artist who is a good 20 years clear of these kids seems very unwholesome...almost creepy. Hope he made some money off that, he may need to lay low for a while.
In other news...
In between all of this ranting and raving we have actually been working quite hard!
Still can't say much about our large project, but I can hint- it's huge. It features a lot of new instruments/techniques for us, and it is set in the past. It literally pains me to not say more than that, but it is for the greater good, trust us. It's just like when you got Jaws on video for the first time then fast forwarded to all the parts where you saw the shark- not nearly as good!
There will be more info soon- quite soon actually, because we're really churning out these next few projects at full throttle. Time really flies when you're sitting in a room filled with guitars and synths.
Also still to come, this month's song!
Stay tuned.
May this hilarity from Simon Pegg and Nick Frost tide you over.
Sheisse. Poor girl. That's got to be the most poorly-written song ever. And the timing makes me want to cry even more than the lyrics do. Sigh. But she'll be ok, she's super cute and apparently knows the hell out of her days of the week. Nothing can stop her!
ReplyDeleteOn a personal note, some of us WORK on the weekends, so I'm feeling a bit ostracized.
